Remote controlled filter
Ultramax BT is a new version of our classic filter that is more convenient to use than ever before. All options in this version can be set via your mobile device – smartphone or tablet. Take care of setting the power, flow or switching on without going to the aquarium! Just download and install the Aquel BT app (check the Android or IOS store).
Infinitely adjustable power output
The filter performance control is extremely simple and intuitive. You set the desired power level on your phone and the filter responds accordingly after a while. The control is infinitely adjustable – you set the appropriate percentage of filter power on the clear axis.
Flexible flow modes
Choose from 4 flow modes such as constant, pulse, sinusoidal or intermittent and adapt the filter to the animals and plants in it. Different “ripple” modes allow you to simulate natural environmental conditions. This stimulates fish and plants to grow healthier and improves their living conditions.
Filter adapted to the daily rhythm
Conditions similar to natural ones – this is the dream of many aquarists. But is it possible to keep animals and plants close to nature in your own home? With Day&Night it is possible!
The Ultramax BT filter allows the flow to be regulated as in open tanks, where the nighttime swell differs from the daytime swell. Simply enter the times you want the filter to run slower and the night mapping will take place. In addition, you can set a more moderate operation for times when fish are feeding so that they are not subjected to additional stress. The filter will begin to gradually reduce the flow rate so that it returns to the set speed just as gently when the feeding is over.
Patented solutions
Our Ultramax BT filter is characterised by its large filter mass capacity. We have equipped it with a number of solutions whose highest quality is confirmed by patents:

Thanks to these solutions, you not only get high quality filtration, but also comfort in use.
Prefilter
The voluminous pre-filter has a capacity of up to 0.6 litres (0.16 US gal) and is integrated into the lid of the unit. It effectively traps large debris, thus significantly reducing the frequency of filter servicing. The pre-filter protects the filter media from faster wear and the filter from clogging.
Cleaning the pre-filter itself is very simple and does not even require removing the unit from the cabinet. Just lift the lid, remove the sponge from the basket and rinse it.
Double ball valve system
Aquarists know that a critical phase of work requiring access to the inside of the filter is usually disconnecting the supply and drain hoses from the unit. Water that remains in the filter usually spills out onto the floor, causing legitimate irritation.
To prevent this, a patented double ball valve system is used. These simultaneously close the inlet and outlet of the filter in the housing and the hose clearance. This prevents uncontrolled water leakage.
Self-priming system
Just make 2 to 4 plunger movements and you’re done. The filter will be flooded with aquarium water. Simple?
Efficient use
Ultramax BT guarantees effective mechanical and biological filtration. Use the filter media of your choice in each of the 5 filter media baskets. Each basket has a capacity of up to 1.9 litres (0.5 US gal). This gives you a huge filtration capacity: together with the pre-filter, it can hold up to 10.1 litres (2.67 US gal) of filter media! You can freely mix the filter media to create the composition that best suits your aquarium.
The capacity of the entire filter bucket is 16 litres (4.23 US gal).

Discreet
The Ultramax BT filter is extremely quiet. You can easily place it in your bedroom or in the room where you work. The ingenious design of the pump impeller and its chambers and the ceramic impeller axis ensure that the filter operates almost silently even at maximum flow.
Fully equipped
You will receive the Ultramax BT aquarium filter complete with cartridges of the appropriate size for mechanical and biological filtration. We have also included the necessary accessories. You can be sure that the filter is ready for operation immediately after purchase.
The starter kit contains a complete set of accessories needed to install and commission the filter:

In addition, Ultramax BT allows flexible configuration of filter media to suit your needs. In this way, you can adapt the filter operation to the exact needs of your tank.
Please note! From September 2025, the inlets and outlets have changed, and from November 2025, the rain showers in the external filters have changed.
Low power consumption
The Ultramax BT filter consumes very little electricity. Its power consumption depends on the flow rate you set – from 6.1 to just 13.5 W at the maximum setting! This means lower electricity bills with truly outstanding filter performance.
ULTRAMAX BT for your aquarium
ULTRAMAX BT can be adapted to aquariums up to 750 l (198 US gal).
Should this convince you that this model is only for the largest tanks? Not necessarily! Thanks to the infinitely variable control, this single filter can also be adapted to smaller aquariums from 100 l (26.4 US gal). Simply reduce the filter flow rate in the phone app and even a small tank will benefit from the excellent water purification properties. Thanks to the lower flow rate, it is also necessary to change or clean the filter media less frequently. So you’ll be able to enjoy pristine water for even longer.
