Rotala Nanjenshan is a hybrid cross between Rotala Rotundifolia and Rotala Wallichii. It requires high light and CO2 injection to thrive and prefers softer, acidic water. Photos may show the plant in emersed vs. submerged form — if you receive an emersed plant, simply plant the stems in substrate and new, submersed-grown leaves will grow within a few days.

Skill Level Moderate
CO2 Required
Requires Aqua Soil Recommended
Type Stem
Max Height 5-10"
Placement Midground to background
Light Level Medium to High (approx. 60-100 PAR)
Origin Hybrid (Southeast Asian parentage)
Other Prefers softer, acidic water (pH 5.0-7.0).

Care & Planting: Remove foam/wrap before planting into quality substrate. Handle gently — leaves are fragile.

A note on appearance: Many stem plants, including this one, are harvested in their above-water (emersed) form, and the photo may not reflect how it looks once fully adjusted to life underwater. Leaf shape and coloration commonly shift as the plant transitions to submersed growth — don't be surprised if new growth looks different from what arrived in your order. Give it a few weeks to acclimate before judging its final look.
