Rotala Blood Red (Rotala Rotundifolia) — Tissue Culture

$10.95 USD

Pickup currently unavailable at Nature Aquariums Retail Store

Rotala Blood Red is a form of Rotala Rotundifolia native to southeastern China, with long, narrow leaves similar to Rotala H'ra. A more demanding form of Rotala, it should be grown under high light with CO2 injection — under these ideal conditions the leaves develop a striking red color, and iron dosing can help bring out the color further. Tissue culture plants are grown in vitro in a specialized aquatic-plant lab — the best option for anyone who wants zero unwanted pests introduced into the aquarium.

Care & Planting: Regular trimming keeps growth compact; trimmings can be replanted to propagate. Handle gently — leaves are fragile.

A note on appearance: Many stem plants, including this one, are harvested in their above-water (emersed) form, and the photo may not reflect how it looks once fully adjusted to life underwater. Leaf shape and coloration commonly shift as the plant transitions to submersed growth — don't be surprised if new growth looks different from what arrived in your order. Give it a few weeks to acclimate before judging its final look.
