Proserpinaca Palustris (Mermaid Weed) — Tissue Culture

Mermaid Weed (Proserpinaca palustris) is a unique stem plant with saw-toothed leaf edges. Colors range from bright solid red to a lighter golden-green depending on lighting and nutrients — leaves turn more red when dosing iron supplements. Makes great background coverage, especially in a Dutch-style aquascape where its unique leaves add contrast to other plants. Tissue culture plants are grown in vitro in a specialized aquatic-plant lab — the best option for anyone who wants zero unwanted pests introduced into the aquarium.

Care & Planting: Propagation is simple — cut along the stem and replant the cuttings.

A note on appearance: Many stem plants, including this one, are harvested in their above-water (emersed) form, and the photo may not reflect how it looks once fully adjusted to life underwater. Leaf shape and coloration commonly shift as the plant transitions to submersed growth — don't be surprised if new growth looks different from what arrived in your order. Give it a few weeks to acclimate before judging its final look.
