Oxytetracycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic which exerts a wide range of activity against gram negative and gram positive bacteria. It is useful for a variety of common fish diseases attributed to many bacteria including Aeromonas and Pseudomonas genera and the myxobacterial group (gill diseases, Chondrococcus, Marine ulcer disease, bacterial hemmorrhagic septicemia.)

DOSAGE: First, dose with AquaLife Complete Water Conditioner. Use 1/4 teaspoon per 20 gallons every 24 hours with a 25% water change before each treatment. If mixed into feed, 2 teaspoons or 1.2 grams per pound food. Feed for 14 - 21 days. Calcium and magnesium bind to tetracycline and oxytetracycline rendering it inactive. This means that with increasing water hardness (i.e., increases in calcium and magnesium levels), it is necessary to increase the dosage. If your pH is 8.0 or above and/or the water is hard, it is suggested to use this medication in the feed.

Antibiotics and treatments are always safest when used in a hospital tank. Monitor ammonia and nitrite and use AquaLife Complete Water Conditioner. Change water as needed. Not for fish used for human consumption.

Warnings: Can cause moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Wash hands with soap and water after contact. Keep away from heat and bright light. It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
