Needle Leaf Ludwigia (Ludwigia Arcuata) is a delicate stem plant with thin, pointed leaves that grow in opposite pairs along the stem — green or red depending on the iron available in the water. Frequent pruning encourages bushy, branching growth for the mid- or background of the tank. Sold as a hand-tied bunch.

Skill Level Moderate
CO2 Optional (recommended for the best red coloration)
Requires Aqua Soil Recommended
Type Stem
Max Height 10-20"
Placement Midground to background
Light Level Medium to High (approx. 50-100 PAR)
Origin North America
Other Fragile — handle with care. High iron dosing brings out the deepest red tones. Also available Potted and as a Tissue Culture cup.

Care & Planting: Remove from bunch wrap/foam, then plant individual stems into substrate. Propagate by cutting the main stem and replanting cuttings.

A note on appearance: Many stem plants, including this one, are harvested in their above-water (emersed) form, and the photo may not reflect how it looks once fully adjusted to life underwater. Leaf shape and coloration commonly shift as the plant transitions to submersed growth — don't be surprised if new growth looks different from what arrived in your order. Give it a few weeks to acclimate before judging its final look.
