$11.95 USD

Pickup currently unavailable at Nature Aquariums Retail Store

Hydrocotyle Tripartita (also sold as "Hydrocotyle Japan") is a clover-leaved carpeting plant made famous by aquascapers like Takashi Amano. Versatile enough for foreground, midground, or background use, it grows fast and can carpet the foreground when trimmed regularly under strong light and CO2. This listing is the standard-leaf "Regular" cultivar as a tissue-culture cup, grown in vitro to guarantee zero pests, algae, or snails.

Skill Level Moderate
CO2 Required (to stay low and compact as a carpet)
Requires Aqua Soil Recommended
Type Creeping / carpet plant (Rooted)
Max Height 1-3" if trimmed as a carpet; up to 5-10" if left untrimmed
Placement Foreground carpet (also usable midground/background if left untrimmed)
Light Level High for carpeting (approx. 60-100+ PAR); tolerates Medium but grows looser
Origin Sold in the trade as "Hydrocotyle Japan"; naturally occurs across parts of East Asia and Australasia
Other Also available as Regular — Potted, Regular — Mat, and Mini — Tissue Culture (smaller leaf size).

Care & Planting: Remove the tissue culture gel before planting by rinsing under water or gently squeezing it off, then split the plug into small clumps and plant into substrate. Propagate by trimming stems and replanting cuttings, or by pulling apart dense clumps.
