This Dwarf Hair Grass (Eleocharis acicularis 'mini') arrives as tissue culture, grown in-vitro in a sterile lab so it's free of pests, algae, and snails. It forms a reliable ground-covering lawn, with thin stalks spreading horizontally by runners — much like a terrestrial lawn.

Other Note: correcting a contradiction in the prior listing, which gave both "Cosmopolitan" and "Australia and New Zealand" as origin — this mini cultivar is generally attributed to Australia/New Zealand. This plant has historically been sold in the trade as E. parvula, but that species is likely not actually in the hobby, as it is a brackish-water plant.

Care & Planting: Rinse tissue culture gel off before planting. Separate larger mats into small portions and plant each about an inch apart, halfway into the substrate. After several weeks the plant sends out runners to fill in a lush foreground carpet.
