Eleocharis sp. 'Belem' (Hair Grass) — Tissue Culture

$11.95 USD

Eleocharis sp. 'Belem' is a mid-height hair grass — taller than the dwarf carpeting Eleocharis species but shorter than Eleocharis Vivipara — that can be kept trimmed low as a lush foreground carpet or left to fill in as a midground grass. This is a tissue-culture cup, grown in vitro to guarantee zero pests, algae, or snails.

Skill Level Moderate
CO2 Optional (recommended for a denser carpet)
Requires Aqua Soil Recommended
Type Grass-like carpet/midground plant (Rooted, spreads by runners)
Max Height 4-8"
Placement Foreground (kept trimmed) to Midground
Light Level Medium to High (approx. 40-80 PAR)
Origin Cultivated trade variety (Eleocharis lineage)
Other Also available: the dwarf carpeting grasses Eleocharis Parvulus and Eleocharis Acicularis 'Mini', and the taller background Eleocharis Vivipara, all sold here.

Care & Planting: Remove the tissue culture gel before planting by rinsing under water or gently squeezing it off. Separate into small portions and plant each about an inch apart, roughly halfway into the substrate. Trim regularly to keep it low and carpet-like, or leave untrimmed for a taller midground grass.
