In nature, most shrimps of the genera Caridina and Neocaridina feed on periphyton growing on leaves, roots and stones. The sera shrimp food softens over hours so that the shrimps can graze it slowly and therefore it matches the natural feeding habits of the animals.
The sera crab food has also been especially developed to meet the requirements of these animals. In nature, most crayfish species (e.g. Astacus, Cherax, Procambarus), but also many crabs (e.g. mangrove crabs) feed mainly on fallen leaves and other organic material, such as carrion. However, aquatic animals such as insect larvae, gammarus and aquatic snails are also regularly part of their diet. The staple food for crabs therefore contains high quality ingredients of both plant and animal origin.
Both types of food contain an appropriate amount of calcium to support a safe molting process of the animals.
All sera aquarium foods belong to the “Nature” range and do not require any dyes or preservatives.
