Ludwigia Sedioides, commonly called the Mosaic Plant or False Loosestrife, is a truly one-of-a-kind aquatic plant — its diamond-shaped, dark-to-light green leaves with jagged red edges radiate from a central stem like tiles in a mosaic. The stem is rooted in substrate, but the leaves float on the water's surface — more commonly seen in ponds, but a stunning addition to a large aquarium.

Skill Level Moderate
CO2 Not Required
Requires Aqua Soil Recommended
Type Rooted (Floating-Leaf)
Max Height Stem 10-23"; leaves float on the surface, 3-5" wide
Placement Rooted in substrate, leaves cover the surface — needs a large, open-top tank
Light Level High (approx. 80-120+ PAR)
Origin South America
Other Blooms small yellow flowers under light that simulates seasonal change; leaves close at night and unfurl in daylight if lighting follows a day/night cycle. Will shade out anything planted beneath it.

Care & Planting: Remove any wrap, then plant the stem into substrate. Propagate from seed produced by the flowers.
