Pogostemon Stellatus 'Dassen' is a beautiful stem plant that works well in the background of larger planted aquariums, producing vibrant shades of orange, pink, and red under optimal conditions. Thin, pointed foliage grows in opposite pairs along the stem for a full, bushy look when well maintained. It can be somewhat finicky and is best suited to experienced hobbyists with established, stable tanks. Tissue culture plants are grown in vitro in a specialized aquatic-plant lab — the best option for anyone who wants zero unwanted pests introduced into the aquarium.

Other Remove tissue culture gel before planting by rinsing or squeezing off under water.

Care & Planting: Propagate via cuttings from the main stem, replanted into substrate. Avoid drastic changes to water parameters, which can cause melt and rotting — this species is more sensitive than most stem plants.

A note on appearance: Many stem plants, including this one, are harvested in their above-water (emersed) form, and the photo may not reflect how it looks once fully adjusted to life underwater. Leaf shape and coloration commonly shift as the plant transitions to submersed growth — don't be surprised if new growth looks different from what arrived in your order. Give it a few weeks to acclimate before judging its final look.
