Rotala Vietnam (Vietnamese Rotala) grows in the shallow waters and wet ground of its native Vietnam. Under moderate light it develops green, needle-like leaves with a red stem; intense light gives the leaves a golden color. CO2 injection, iron, and a micronutrient-rich substrate help it grow its best, and it will quickly send long shoots to the surface if left untrimmed. Its size and shape suit midground or background placement depending on trimming frequency, and its color contrasts well with green and red/pink plants alike.

Other Remove tissue culture gel before planting by rinsing or squeezing off under water.

Care & Planting: Cut top and lateral shoots and replant to propagate. Handle gently — leaves are fragile.

A note on appearance: Many stem plants, including this one, are harvested in their above-water (emersed) form, and the photo may not reflect how it looks once fully adjusted to life underwater. Leaf shape and coloration commonly shift as the plant transitions to submersed growth — don't be surprised if new growth looks different from what arrived in your order. Give it a few weeks to acclimate before judging its final look.
