Pearl Moss (Plagiomnium Affine) — Tissue Culture

$11.95 USD

Pearl Moss (Plagiomnium affine) is an aquatic moss characterized by signature small, round leaves sprouting from the main stem, forming upright shoots. Pearl Moss is an extremely slow grower, and quality lighting and CO2 injection are recommended, as it's more susceptible to algae than faster-growing mosses. It can be attached to driftwood or rocks, used to cover unnatural cuts in hardscape, or stuffed into crevices — a good pick for jungle or forest aquascape layouts.

Skill Level Easy
CO2 Optional (recommended)
Requires Aqua Soil No
Type Moss
Max Height Low, upright shoots — varies
Placement Attached to rock or driftwood
Light Level Low to Medium (10-40 PAR)
Origin Asia (temperate regions)
Other Slow grower; more prone to algae issues than faster mosses. Remove tissue culture gel before planting by rinsing or squeezing off under water.

Care & Planting: Attach to hardscape with thread or glue. Provide consistent, quality lighting and CO2 for best results, as this moss is a slow, patience-requiring grower. Propagate by cutting or pulling apart established portions.
