Parrot's Feather (Myriophyllum Aquaticum) is native to the Amazon River basin, where it grows along streams, ponds, and lakes. Its feathery, needle-like foliage is most pronounced when grown emersed. A hardy perennial, it's popular in both ponds and aquariums with emergent growth sections.

Skill Level Moderate
CO2 Optional (recommended)
Requires Aqua Soil Recommended
Type Stem
Max Height 4-16"
Placement Background / emergent (pond-style) sections
Light Level Medium to High (approx. 50-100 PAR)
Origin South America
Other Grown emersed, it also works well as a terrestrial or bog plant for ponds. Requires strong lighting to thrive.

Care & Planting: Remove from bunch wrap/foam, then plant into substrate. Propagate by cutting the stem and replanting cuttings.

A note on appearance: Many stem plants, including this one, are harvested in their above-water (emersed) form, and the photo may not reflect how it looks once fully adjusted to life underwater. Leaf shape and coloration commonly shift as the plant transitions to submersed growth — don't be surprised if new growth looks different from what arrived in your order. Give it a few weeks to acclimate before judging its final look.
