Micranthemum Umbrosum

$5.95 USD

Micranthemum Umbrosum, also called Giant Baby Tears, is a bright green, low-growing stem plant well suited to beginners. Versatile for foreground, midground, or background use — frequent pruning keeps it low and spreading, while left untrimmed it grows upright as a background plant. Often compared to Pearlweed, though its leaves are slightly larger and rounder.

Care & Planting: Trim stem ends, group several cuttings together, and bury them together in substrate. Propagate the same way.

A note on appearance: Many stem plants, including this one, are harvested in their above-water (emersed) form, and the photo may not reflect how it looks once fully adjusted to life underwater. Leaf shape and coloration commonly shift as the plant transitions to submersed growth — don't be surprised if new growth looks different from what arrived in your order. Give it a few weeks to acclimate before judging its final look.
