Crinum Thaianum

$13.95
by UNS

Common Name: Thai Onion Plant

Thai onion plant, as its name suggests, looks like an onion bulb with green foliage growing from the top. The long green stalks grow in a rosette formation and can grow upwards to 60 inches in length. Grown under ideal conditions, Crinum thaianum will produce large white flowers.

The most important thing to keep in mind when growing Crinum thaianum, is to not bury the bulb completely. 1/3 of the bulb should always be above the substrate. A fully buried bulb has a greater chance of rotting. Thai onion plants are heavy root feeders and should be grown in a nutrient-rich substrate. Moderate to high light is recommended for ideal growth. Although CO2 is not required, Crinum thaianum will benefit if CO2 is injected. If given adequate amount of time, Crinum thaianum can adapt to grow in both submerged and emersed environment. Crinum thaianum will produce daughter bulbs as a form of propagation. These baby bulbs can be removed and replanted.

Notes:

  • Crinum Thaianum can grow in both emersed and submerged conditions.
  • Avoid fully burying the bulb, as this can result in bulb rot
  • Crinum Thaianum final size, coloration and growth rate are dependent upon the condition of the environment. Photos are a representation of what you will receive and may vary.
  • Please research appropriately to ensure your plant thrives.
