Care & Planting: This piece features a variety of Bucephalandra species and cultivars hand-attached to a bonsai-style driftwood centerpiece, creating an instant, ready-to-place focal point for the aquarium. As a rhizome-based epiphyte, Bucephalandra should never be buried in substrate — the rhizome (the thick horizontal stem) must remain exposed and attached to hardscape until it naturally roots in over several weeks. Bucephalandra is highly adaptable, tolerating low light and a wide range of water parameters, and grows slowly, making it a low-maintenance option for a natural aquascape. Trim any melted or damaged leaves as needed and avoid disturbing the rhizome once established.
