At Nature Aquariums, we handpick each plant to ensure it is optimal for shipping and meets our high standards. Our inventory reflects a diverse selection of aquatic plants we regularly receive from our trusted farms. However, availability can vary based on farm production and seasonal changes. Please verify the current stock with us to ensure the plant you desire is available for pickup or shipping.

Order Confirmation and Shipping

Once you place your order, we will confirm its details and availability via email from Tuesday through Friday. If, for any reason, we are unable to fulfill your order completely, we will notify you promptly. At that point, you can choose to substitute or cancel your order. For your convenience, all plants are shipped via 2nd Day Air to ensure they arrive in excellent condition.

Alternanthera Bettzickiana Red is a popular choice for beginners due to the fact that it's pretty easy to grow. Most red stem plants can prove difficult to get that vibrant red color without providing high CO2 and micronutrients. This plant can stay vibrant red with relative ease but if nutrients and lighting are severely lacking, the leaves can dull out to an orange hue.  It prefers high nitrates and high phosphates so dosing fertilizers such as UNS Plant Food will help speed up growth and keep coloration at its best.

The Alternanthera Bettzickiana Red has been attached on top of a terra cotta ball, to be placed in a terrarium, vivarium, or paladarium. The terra cotta ball is entirely wrapped with Christmas moss to create a seamless transition between the plants. This is a perfect piece for new beginners trying their hand at live plants for the first time. Moss is considered a low light and low requirement plant that anyone can keep.  As long as the moss stays wet and has light, they will grow. The Alternanthera Bettzickiana Red grown with high light and CO2 will become red and create a beautiful contrast against the green moss. The leaves the Alternanthera Bettzickiana Red also has a slight frill that gives the plant character.
